A multi-disciplinary reporter, I've written and photographed for national and international publications, nonprofits, and local news outlets for more than a decade, covering a wide range of topics including agriculture, conservation, outdoor recreation, local economic development, sustainable business, and social finance. Lately, I'm exploring the ways everyday people all over the world are affected by and responding to environmental degradation and climate change. I'm currently working on stories reported pre-Covid in Mongolia, Colombia, and Appalachia. Named a 2020 Overseas Press Club Fellow after finishing my masters degree at U.C. Berkeley School of Journalism, as soon as international borders open I'll be reporting from the Wall Street Journal's bureau in Singapore. Until then, I'm working in Santa Fe, NM and soon to be Vancouver, WA after spending more than a decade in Oakland, CA.
